Annie Oakley

Yes, WKVI will be at the Starke County 4-H Fair today with live broadcasting, and more. You’re invited to come out an meet some of the radio personalities.

Fortunately, and at the insistence of the Fair Board, Ted Hayes will not be allowed on the grounds in drag again this year. As you might remember, Ted was part of an 8 Maids a Milking Contest last year. The contestants were all dressed in their female finest, but that didn’t say much for Ted who came dressed as Annie Oakley.

But he was so darned ugly that many people on the fairgrounds reacted in negative ways. Children were seen running down the midway screaming. Fair board President Ed Troike was put into a catatonic state that took three hours recovery time. Ted slipped up behind him prepared to give him a kiss on the cheek, when suddenly Ed went rigid. A doctor, veterinarian, and dentist all took part in the treatment.

Three 4-H Leaders reported having bad dreams for weeks. One was reported to have had to seek radical hypnosis treatment with hypnotherapy session newcastle because every woman in a hat she saw after Ted’s appearance put her into cold sweats.

The Ferris wheel started going in reverse, and refused to stop when Ted walked down the midway. Cotton candy became hardened in the cones, and the pigs bolted from their pens during the pig scramble. (Eighteen were finally re-captured in Plymouth after running down U.S. 30 to escape the frightening sight)

The Ugliest Woman in Starke County suddenly took on a new meaning.

The insurance company for the fair even put a rider on the policy that stated Ted could not ever dress up like a woman again, and visit the fairgrounds. Even 3-D glasses couldn’t tone down the effects of the ghastly sight.

Ted Hayes will be at the fairgrounds tonight, but be advised he will not be in his Annie Oakley outfit.
