Incidents:
06/05/11 The manager at the Marathon gas station in Medaryville reported a break in. The back door was kicked in and the safe was pried open. The only money in the safe was change. There was no power at the business. A crime scene technician was called to the scene.

06/05/11 A resident called to report a fertilizer tank in the ditch by Francesville. The tank was nearly submerged under water. When police arrived on scene, it was determined that it was a large storage tank of some sort with a large crack in it and it is full of water. The situation was not deemed hazardous.

06/05/11 A Winamac resident told police that two pickup trucks were tearing through his grass and field tearing up everything.

06/04/11 A Winamac man reported the theft of his son’s cell phone.

06/04/11 Larry Hoover, EMA Director of Pulaski County, requested the activation of weather spotters in the area due to tornado warnings.

06/04/11 Officers responded to an accident where a resident drove a car into a fallen tree just north of 200 North in Pulaski County. No injuries were reported.

06/04/11 Large bones were dug up while NIPSCO was repairing a gas leak. A veterinarian came on scene and determined the bones came from an animal. The project had to stop until the bones could be identified.

06/03/11 A blue mini van was reported in a ditch west of 300 W in Winamac. No one was inside the vehicle at the time of the incident was reported.

06/02/11 A resident reported that a recliner, mower and big metal can were in the roadway by the Alliance Bank in Francesville. The caller said it looked like somebody deliberately placed those items there.

06/02/11 A resident in the Monterey area reported bullet holes in their house. No injuries were reported.

06/01/11 A Francesville resident told police that some unknown person(s) broke out a back car window.

06/01/11 An employee at Casey’s reported a drive-off of $57.19.

06/06/11 Daniel Lewark, 28, 611 N. Keller, Winamac, IN, arrested on a probation violation.

06/04/11 Jeffrey L. Jacobs, 24, 5884 S. 600 N. Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle. Discharged 06/03/11

06/04/11 Jeffrey Lin Green, 43, 7739 S. 325 W. Star City, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated x2. Discharged 06/04/11

06/03/11 Nathan VanderAa, 33, 4838 S. 500 E., Star City, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Possession of Methamphetamine. Discharged 06/03/11

06/02/11 Eric Wireman, 27, 15385 W. 160 N. Medaryville, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

06/02/11 Joshua Wielochowski, 21, 4839 N. 300 W., Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Driving While Suspended-Prior. Discharged 06/02/11

06/02/11 Joshua Sprinkle, 28, 7920 Blue Jay Ln., Indianapolis, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Driving While Suspended-Prior. Discharged 06/02/11

06/01/11 Brandon Bulthuis, 30, 9200 W. 1200 N., DeMotte, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

Accidents:
05/31/11 Officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department investigated a single motorcycle accident near the intersection of 1000 South and 1400 West. The driver of the motorcycle, Kyle Anderson, 23, of Buffalo and his passenger, Joshua Anderson, 21, were traveling westbound on County Road 1000 South when the motorcycle collided with a deer. The motorcycle then struck a concrete culvert and a utility pole. The pair were located in the ditch on the north side of the roadway and were airlifted to South Bend Memorial for their injuries. The extent of their injuries is unknown. Alcohol is NOT suspected in this case.

From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
06/03/11 A parent reported her 15-year-old son as a runaway to the North Judson Police. The boy was later located in the Wheatfield area and returned to his parent.

06/01/11 The Brantwood Restaurant reported to North Judson Police that a suspect had cashed four checks on a closed account. North Judson Office Joe Budner is investigating.

05/30/11 North Judson Police located two juvenile males in the area of Jones and Central around 12:45 a.m. When police approached the juveniles fled on foot and after a short foot pursuit, the two were apprehended in the Pioneer Cemetery. Both were released to their parents and a full report was provided to the Starke County Probation.

05/28/11 Two residents in North Judson were reported to police that their homes had been vandalized with toilet paper over night. One other home was also vandalized on June 2nd.

05/19/11 David H. Roe, North Judson, IN, arrested for Public Intoxication and Resisting Law Enforcement.

From the Knox City Police Department:

Incidents:
06/05/11 Katherine Lindsey called police to report a theft. She observed her vehicle to be ransacked. Several CDs and loose change were reported stolen.

06/04/11 The Knox City Police Department was notified that two Bourbon Day Care facilities in Bourbon, Indiana reported attempted child abductions. The man, who was described to be short and in his 60s, said he lived in Knox. The Bourbon Police Department has a complete report on file.

06/03/11 Jeffrey Vinall reported the theft of items from a trailer located behind his home.

06/01/11 The manager at Taco Bell reported vandalism to the building. Some unknown person(s) had thrown a bench weight at the building leaving marks on the walls on the south, west, and east sides near the front doors.

Arrests:
06/05/11 Herman Hopkins, 30, 207 W. Lake St., Knox, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Battery, two counts of Residential Entry, two counts of Theft, two counts of Burglary, two counts of Unlawful Entry into a Vehicle, and Resisting Law Enforcement.

06/04/11 Rickey Timm, 53, 1010 Denney St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Trespassing.

06/02/11 Matthew Stamper, 30, 550 E. Washington St., Knox, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

Accidents:
06/03/11 Jeffrey Reynolds admitted to hitting the back of a vehicle owned by Ann Upp. She was placing items into her car when she heard a loud vehicle start up. She then heard another loud noise and saw her vehicle move forward.  Reynolds had hit the back of her vehicle with his and caused damage to her vehicle.

06/04/11 A Knox resident reported the theft of $600 from her purse.

06/04/11 A resident in Knox reported that her purse was stolen at Save-a-Lot and the suspect was reportedly caught on security camera using her card at Walgreens.

06/04/11 A Koontz Lake resident told police that some unknown suspect(s) shot the window out of Mike’s Bait Shop with a pellet or BB gun.

06/03/11 Leroy Hanselman reported locks broken and items taken from a North Judson location.

06/03/11 A Knox resident notified police that his bike was stolen and now the bike is at pawn shop. He had not filed a report and the pawn shop will not give it back to him without a report.

06/02/11 A resident in the 100 block of N. Webster in San Pierre reported the theft of a riding lawn mower.

06/01/11 A resident in the 9600 block of E. 150 N. in Grovertown reported the theft of a vehicle.  It was a 1994 Dodge Caravan.

05/31/11 A resident in the 6800 block of E. Skyline Ave. reported the theft of a picnic table.

05/31/11 A resident in North Judson called police to report that six males attempted to sell cleaning products to her and they seemed suspicious.

05/31/11 A North Judson man reported his push mower stolen. He said a neighbor saw a black car pull up to his residence.  A tall man got out of the vehicle and put the mower in the trunk.

06/01/11 Shayne Beem, 18, of Walkerton, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Invasion of Privacy.
