34th Annual North Judson Mint Festival Begins Friday

The 34th annual Mint Festival in North Judson begins this Friday, June 17th and runs until Sunday, June 19th. The carnival will be in town and musical entertainment will be featured throughout the entire weekend in Norwayne Field.

The Father and Grandfather of the Year will be announced Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. CT and the Mint Idol contest will be at 6:00 p.m. The town-wide yard sale begins Saturday morning, The Dr. Ufkes 5K run/2 mile walk will start at 7:00 a.m. with registration at 6:00 a.m. A Pancake breakfast is planned Saturday morning from 7:00-10:00 a.m. CT. Train rides at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum begin at 10:00 a.m. One highlight of the Festival is the Cooking with Mint contest. Registration for that is Saturday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. with judging at 11:00 a.m. The fireman’s waterball fight is Saturday at Noon and Kersting’s Mint Fest ride is Saturday at 1:00 p.m. A book sale will be held at Bank of Indiana, and Kersting’s Mint Fest ride begins at 1:00 p.m. at Kersting’s Cycle Center. The pet parade is Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and the regular parade is at 3:00 p.m. Arts and crafts will be available for this year’s event as well as The Taste of North Judson.

The Mint Festival celebrates the successful production of mint oil in Starke County.
