Two Starke County Residents Arrested after Traffic Stop

Two Starke County residents were arrested today on felony charges after a traffic stop by Starke County police.

Officers recognized Heather Manns, 33, of North Judson traveling as a passenger in a vehicle and police stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Culver Road and US 35 in Knox. Officers took her into custody on a Failure to Appear warrant through Starke County and she was also wanted out of Pulaski County.

During the traffic stop, officers arrested Brian Standiford, 45, of Knox. Standiford was arrested on preliminary charges of Haboring a Fugitive, a Class D Felony; Possession of Methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a School, a Class B Felony; and Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor. Both Manns and Standiford are being held in the Starke County Jail awaiting arraignment.

The Starke County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Knox City Police Department and the Knox City K9 officer.
