Starke County EMA to Host Weather Spotter Training Sessions

The Starke County Emergency Management Agency is hosting a Weather Observer/Storm Spotter Training class on Monday, March 21st. Two different training sessions will be held. One session will be offered at 2:30 p.m. CT and the other at 6:00 p.m. CT at the Knox South Side Fire Station on US 35.

EMA Director, Ted Bombagetti told WKVI that a NOAA weather representative from North Webster will administer the class. The participants will learn how to read the clouds and determine if a tornado is forming. That is just one of the things participants will learn in the class. Bombagetti said the class is truly unique and it is a whole new class this year.

Interested Starke County residents are asked to register with Ted Bombagetti by calling (574) 772-9182 or by emailing tbombagetti@co.starke.in.us.
