Incidents:
03/24/11 A guardian reported a 13-year-old female juvenile as a runaway to the North Judson Police. After a short investigation, North Judson Officer Dennis Fornelli located the female and returned her home.

03/21/11 North Judson Police responded to the 500 Block of Talmer Avenue in reference to a reported dog bite. An incident report was taken by police and a dog bite form was filed by the Starke County Humane Society. The animal owner was issued an ordinance ticket for an unlicensed dog which carries a $50.00 fine.

03/27/11 Marsha R. Davis, 26, 6466 W. 600 North, Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

03/21/11 Randy L. Bishop, 33, 607 Lane Street, North Judson, IN, arrested on an active Child Support Warrant.

Hamlet Police Department

03/24/11 Todd Ferch reported that scrap had been stolen from his residence on Davis Street in Hamlet.

03/23/11 Johnathon Hummel was arrested on a preliminary charge of Criminal Trespass.

Pulaski County Sheriff's Department

Incidents:
03/27/11 A break-in was reported at a barn in Winamac. The owner did not know if anything was stolen at the time the call was placed.

03/27/11 Jasper County requested the Medaryville Fire Department to assist in investigating a call. An officer said there is a cloud of smoke and a weird smell. It could be an active meth lab.

03/26/11 Officers were called to an accident in Winamac where injuries were reported after a car was reported in a deep ditch. A person was reportedly airlifted out due to the extent of injuries sustained in the accident.

03/26/11 A caller in the Town of Pulaski reported that someone broke into his cabin on the river and stole all of his tools, a furnace, windows – everything he had to rehab the home.

03/25/11 A caller from the Town of Pulaski reported a stolen motorcycle. The bike was taken from his barn. It was last seen at the property one month ago.

03/25/11 Pulaski County Jail Division requested an officer in reference to found contraband.

03/25/11 A Winamac resident called to report that her daughter was in Valparaiso and the license plate was stolen off of her car.

03/24/11 A Monterey resident called police to report the theft of four kayaks from his residence.

03/23/11 An EMT called to report that she hit a deer and then she hit a cement guard rail. The airbags deployed and she is bleeding from the head. She is walking around but needs to be checked.

03/22/11 A caller in Francesville called to report that someone went completely through his fence and continued into his field. The caller said that there was no way the driver could get out of the car because the wire and post is wrapped around the car. The driver was not hurt in the accident.

03/21/11 A caller said her neighbor’s trailer was on fire. The suspect who was moving out allegedly stated that he was going to burn it down when he was done moving out.

03/21/11 A resident in the Town of Pulaski reported that his barn was broken into.

03/21/11 A man from North Judson called police to say that he may be following a green Ford Explorer he reported stolen over a year ago. After a VIN check, it turned out that the car was not the one reported stolen.

03/21/11 A caller reported an accident in Francesville. The driver had wrecked in the caller’s yard. The driver had hit a utility pole and the lines were on top of the vehicle. Power was reported out and utility crews were called to the scene. The driver was not injured.

03/21/11 Two people were injured after a tire flew off another vehicle. The incident happened in Winamac.

03/21/11 A driver called police to report a possible drunk driver ahead of him on the road in Medaryville. Police stopped the vehicle where they learned the driver had been talking on his cell phone and texting while driving. The driver was issued a citation.

03/22/11 Judy Hagerman, 36, 1250 S. State Road 119, Winamac, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. Discharged 03/23/11

03/22/11 Timothy E. Hampton, 35, 313 W. Cool Spring, Michigan City, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

03/21/11 Jason Alan Wilkerson, 35, 313 S. Maple Ave., Medaryville, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. Discharged 03/22/11

03/21/11 Lyle Homer Rankin, 73, 183 W. 600 N., Winamac, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant. Discharged 03/21/11

From the Knox City Police Department:

Incidents:
03/28/11 Kayla Thompson reported vandalism to a bedroom that was being rented at a residence in Knox. Items were also reported stolen from the residence. There is a possible suspect in the case.

03/28/11 Al Noble reported the theft of a Billy Goat leaf blower.

03/27/11 An employee at the Next Door Food Store reported the theft of $38 in gas.

03/26/11 Penny Back told police that some unknown people backed into the front bumper of her vehicle. The vehicle was parked on Main Street at the time of the incident.

03/24/11 Rolland McVey reported his truck stolen. He was sitting at his kitchen table when two male subjects came walking into his kitchen from his back room. He asked them how they got in and they said their daughter had been bitten by a dog. McVey said he doesn’t own a dog and he got up from the table and started walking toward them. They turned around and took off running out the back door. He later he looked out and saw his truck missing. His keys were missing from the key hook that hangs next to the back door. The males appeared to be in their late teens. The truck is a teal 1997 Ford truck.

03/23/11 Jeannie Brewer reported that she was out of her home for a few hours and when she returned, she found that her front door had been forced open. Her rented TV and surround sound system were stolen.

03/22/11 Matthew Zink reported that the two juvenile suspects who admitted stealing cash from him and promised restitution have not followed through with the agreement.

03/26/11 Michael Dalton, 50, 510 S. Shield St., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Driving While Suspended-Prior.

03/26/11 Cathy Kidd, 218 1/2 Washington St., Alexandria, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Operating a Vehicle with a Controlled Substance in the Body.

03/25/11 Joshua Sprinkle, 28, 7920 Blue Jay Ln. Apt B, Indianapolis, IN, arrested on preliminary charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Operating a Vehicle with a BAC of at least .15%, Operating a Vehicle with a Controlled Substance in the Body, and Possession of Marijuana.

03/25/11 Daniel Pastorcik, 310 N. Heaton St., Knox, IN, arrested on two counts of Neglect of a Dependent, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Reckless Possession of Paraphernalia.

03/24/11 Samuel Smith, 47, 428 W. Elm Dr., Knox, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Trespassing.

03/23/11 Daniel Jones Sr., 38, 4673 Garfield St., Gary, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Invasion of Privacy.

Incidents:
03/28/11 A Knox resident reported the theft of a 2000 GMC Sierra. The vehicle was not plated.

03/27/11 A North Judson resident called police to report some unknown person(s) pranking her by banging on the windows and ringing the door bell. This type of behavior has happened in the past.

03/27/11 Frank Mowbray reported his tools stolen.

03/27/11 Garrel Cole told police that he was down at Wythogan Park and backed into a cable by the river and broke it.

03/27/11 Police were dispatched to Hickory Hills Campground in reference to a theft that occurred there. Witnesses saw a purple pickup pull up to the property in question and a male subject got out, took something, put it into the truck and then drove away. Police caught up with the suspect who said he was given permission by an old man to take a battery from the residence. The witnesses stated that there wasn’t an old man there during the day. The suspect was subsequently arrested for theft.

03/26/11 Rodney Cooper reported his four wheeler stolen.

03/24/11 Shawn Allen reported the theft of his debit card.

03/24/11 A Knox resident residing in the 110 block of N. 1200 E. reported someone blew up his mailbox.

03/23/11 A gray Ford pickup was reported stolen from San Pierre Auto.

03/23/11 An unknown suspect damaged 10 bushes and broke beer bottles against the side of the Little Dove Baptist Church that caused cracks and holes.

03/27/11 Dale Chlebek, 45, arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft.

03/27/11 Lisa Napierkowski, 29, of Knox, arrested on preliminary charges of False Reporting, Possession of Methamphetamine and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.
