Incidents:
03/11/11 The North Judson Police Department responded to a break-in at Ray’s Super Foods on Lane Street on Friday around 4:50 a.m. A back entry door appeared to have been pried open and a front window was broken out. Unknown subject(s) entered the business taking both cash and merchandise with several tobacco products being taken as well. It is believed the burglar(s) made entry between 3:00 and 4:20 a.m. Police have few leads and are asking for the public’s help by encouraging people who might have any information regarding this incident to call the North Judson Police at (574)772-5914 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-342-STOP or 1-574-288-STOP. Chief Doug Vessely reminds people if you call Crime Stoppers you don’t have to leave your name and they do not have caller ID. “Any tips would be greatly appreciated,” Vessely added.

03/10/11 James Demis reported the attempted theft of gas from his vehicle from 111 S. Jefferson St., in Hamlet.

03/11/11 Richard Main reported that his vehicle had been vandalized overnight at 504 N. Starke St., Lot #59, in Hamlet.

03/13/11 An unwanted subject was removed from 603 E. Plymouth in Hamlet.

03/13/11 The Medaryville Fire Department was called to a fire in the Medaryville area. The person calling in the fire told dispatch that a van just burst into flames. After investigating the fire, it was learned that the van could have been stolen.

03/12/11 A Winamac resident reported that someone just backed up into her brand new car.

03/12/11 A caller in Winamac reported the theft of mail from the mailbox.

03/12/11 A Winamac resident complained that three males with metal detectors were at a residence and digging up the yard. The three told police they were looking for coins. Police asked them to leave the premises as they didn’t have permission to be on the property.

03/12/11 A Francesville caller reported a stolen truck. The caller believes the babysitter stole the truck. The babysitter often runs errands in the truck but now she has taken off with the truck and will not give it back.

03/12/11 A caller in the Denham area reported a crimper and wagon stolen from the property.

03/12/11 A caller in the Monon area reported that some unknown person with a chemical is going door to door and it seemed suspicious.

03/12/11 A caller in the northwestern part of the county told dispatch that he had permission to leave his broke-down truck in front of a residence and he would have it towed. He left the area and when he returned, the truck was there but the truck’s license plate was gone.

03/11/11 A caller in the Pulaski area called to report that a summer home had been broken into. The garage door was open and a John Deere Gator was missing.

03/11/11 A Winamac resident advised police that a girl threw his bike in the river. After confronted by police, the girl retrieved the bicycle.

03/10/11 Jasper County dispatch advised that a suspicious male is going door to door asking residents for gas money. They believe the subject may be headed into Pulaski County.

03/10/11 The action of property damage vehicle accident in White County caused a pole to snap in half that affected residents in Pulaski County. No serious injuries were reported.

03/10/11 An officer was requested for a belligerent customer at a local gas station who doesn’t want to pay for gas.

03/10/11 A theft was reported from Ace Hardware.

03/10/11 A caller in the Denham area called police to report 20-23 roosters tethered to barrels. The caller thought the police should look into this in case it’s for cock fighting purposes.

03/09/11 A Medaryville caller told police that some unknown person tried to break into his garage again. The suspect was wearing all black and took off after the homeowner shot at the subject with his BB gun.

03/08/11 A Medaryville resident reported the theft of a car stereo.

Incidents:
03/13/11 Jose Gorge told police that a black and white dog was chasing the chickens in his chicken house and the dog killed one of them. Gorge told police that he is missing about 11 chickens and he believes the dog has killed all of them.

03/13/11 An officer was called to Wythogan Park where two women reported being harassed by a man in a red truck. He reportedly approached the women demanding money.

03/12/11 Rhonda Zitt, 404 E. New York St., Knox, IN, cited for Driving While Suspended-Prior.

03/11/11 Natalie Scott reported damage to her vehicle while it was parked at Five Star. There is a possible suspect.

03/11/11 Brad Lovely reported his 1997 S10 pickup stolen from 53 W. Lake St. There is a suspect in this case.

03/09/11 Knox City police were called to the Astoria Inn. An employee reportedly found drug paraphernalia in a motel room.

03/09/11 Crystal Reed reported finding a debit card at the Keybank ATM along with the receipt.

03/12/11 Kyle Nissen reported the theft of two mobile home axles.

03/12/11 Craig McEndarfer reported the theft of a Yamaha Zuma.

03/12/11 Clyde Singleton reported an attempted break-in. Some unknown person(s) attempted to break into his shed. He fired a gun in the direction of the people running from his residence.

03/11 Marsha with A.L. Olson Real Estate requested to speak with an officer. An air conditioning unit was stolen from a house that is up for foreclosure and needs a report.

03/10/11 Cathy Brown called 9-1-1 to report her house was on fire. She said it started in the chimney. The San Pierre Fire Department was called to the scene.

03/10/11 Roberta Williams requested an officer. Checks were written on a closed account.

03/10/11 Ashley Jones of Monticello reported her cell phone stolen from the Sand Bar.

03/09/11 Jake Lovely reported a stolen cell phone.

03/08/11 A caller reported a neighbor’s truck stolen.

03/13/11 Colton Romenzak, 21, Knox, IN arrested on charges of Domestic Battery and Criminal Mischief. After appearing in Knox City Court, he was given an added charge of Contempt of Court.

03/13/11 Frank Solberg, 41, arrested on a Violation of a Protective Order-Invasion of Privacy.

03/13/11 Jerry Sanchez, 40, South Bend, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Conversion.
