Knox Middle School Students, Staff Raise $600 for American Heart Association

Knox Middle School faculty and students recently participated in a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.

“We decided that the best way to raise money to help the American Heart Association was to sell Heart Association t-shirts and arrange a pie-in-the-face competition for Valentine’s Day,” explained Knox Middle School Principal, Steve Cronk. “By combining those two exercises, we have raised over $600.”

Students who won a drawing to throw a pie in a teacher’s or administrator’s face will get the opportunity to do that at 2:25 p.m. CT today:

“Mr. Jones in grade six will get a pie in the face from Brendan Howard who is a sixth grader,” said Mr. Cronk. “Mrs. Flora will get a pie in the face from Summer Beem, who is a seventh grader; Mrs. Radtke will take a pie in the face from Elijah Larson, who is in grade eight; Mr. Miller will take a pie in the face from Cassidy Miller, a seventh grade student; and I’ll take a pie in the face from John Murphy, who is also a seventh grade student.”

Be watching for pictures from the event tomorrow.
