The Starke United Auction is Today; Listen Live on WKVI

The annual Starke United Auction will be held today at the CenturyLink warehouse. The auction will be broadcast on both WKVI AM and FM and kicks off at 10:00 a.m. CT. WKVI’s Tom Berg and Ted Hayes are the hosts. This year we will be assisted by auctioneer, Ben Osinski, who will describe the items and give you bidding rules.

Father Spanley gets ready for the auction

Father Tony Spanley and his committee have collected some great gifts.

“I’m going to say this is the year of the bicycles because we have four different bicycles that will be auctioned,” said Father Spanley. “Gilsinger Implement gave us two bicycles. We also have pontoon boat rides and sleigh rides.”

CenturyLink is providing the location for the auction free of charge. Jack Moore is the District Director of CenturyLink, and Knox High School graduate of 1970.

“We have great people and the mission with the company is the same, regardless of the name that goes back as far as United Telephone, community is important. That’s why I’ve stayed with them so long and I’m thrilled to come back home and work in the community I grew up in.”

WKVI Program Director, Lenny Dessauer, has selected some traditional Christmas music to be played between bids to put you in the holiday mood for bidding.
