North Judson Town Board: (L to R) Dan Anderson, Jane Ellen Felchuk, Wendy Hoppe, Connie Miller (Clerk-Treasurer)

At its Monday meeting, the North Judson Town Board approved the CKIN railroad’s request to purchase new railroad ties at a cost of $7,000. The volunteers plan to replace several ties in need of repair.

The Board also approved the funding to repair and refurbish fire truck #6 for the North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department. At the Board’s last meeting, the Fire Department personnel learned that their grant application for a new fire truck was declined. The Board decided to repair and refurbish the truck that the Fire Department planned to replace. The $41,386 bill will be split between the Town and the Wayne Township Trustee. Repairs on the truck should take approximately one month and it will take approximately three months to refurbish the truck. When complete, the truck should last 10 years.

The Fire Department thanked the Utility Department and the residents for keeping snow away from fire hydrants. They ask that this practice be continued through the winter season.
